Deixo-me sempre seduzir pelas linhas Arte Nova, que acho um estilo cheio de elegância e requinte, leve e fluido nas suas formas ondulantes.
I always fall for the lines of Art Nouveau, which I find a style full of elegance and charm, light and fluid in its wavy forms.
Da Vista Alegre, claramente neste estilo, tenho apenas duas chávenas e pires marcados, uma de chá e uma de café.
By Vista Alegre, clearly in this style, I only have two marked cups and saucers, a tea cup and a coffee cup.
Para criar um pouco de ambiente de época juntei às chávenas um espelho de mesa com moldura Arte Nova e ainda uma palmatória do mesmo estilo, com marca da WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik). Há uma terceira chávena e pires, de diferente fabrico, a que talvez reserve um outro post.
To create a suitable period atmosphere I added a table mirror with Art Nouveau frame to the cups and also a candle holder in the same style, marked WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik). There is a third cup and saucer by a different maker, which I may deal with in another post.
A chávena de chá, hexagonal tal como o pires, foi decorada com um delicado ramo de flores que me parecem anémonas, como são anémonas as flores do prato de porcelana Nymphenburg que está ao lado - flores muito presentes nas decorações desta corrente estética, a par dos lírios, jarros, lilazes, cravos e rosas.
The tea cup, of hexagonal form like the saucer, was decorated with a delicate bunch of flowers, which look like anemones to me, as anemones are the flowers on the Nymphenburg porcelain plate that stands next to it - very recurrent flowers in decorations found in this aesthetic movement, as are irises, calla lilies, lilacs, carnations and roses.
O pires tem ainda um suave relevo moldado na pasta, menos nítido na chávena, mas aquie vê-se também o pormenor da asa de um formato elaborado, mas elegante.
The saucer also has a soft moulded relief, less visible on the cup, but here you can see the detail of the handle, in an elaborate but elegant shape.
A marca corresponde ao período de fabrico da Vista Alegre que vai de 1881 a 1921, tendo sido usada a par com outras marcas.
The backstamp belongs to the period of Vista Alegre production that spans the years between 1881 and 1921, although other backstamps were used during that period.
A segunda chávena, de café, para além das linhas coleantes em dourado tem um acabamento irisado que também é muito típico da porcelana da época.
The second cup, a coffee cup, together with the golden wavy lines, has an iridescent finish which is also typical of this period porcelain.
De novo uma asa muito elegante, ao estilo da época.
